I had the opportunity to test the ASUS ROG Harpe II Ace Mini for about a month. From this experience, I gained some fresh insights into using a lightweight gaming mouse. Personally, I believe that a lightweight mouse significantly improves comfort, whether for work or gaming (though, of course, preferences may vary).
So, here’s my full review of the ROG Harpe Ace Mini, covering its design, features, functionality, and overall performance.
Design
From a design standpoint, the ROG Harpe Ace Mini looks simple and minimalistic. I tested the black variant, which I think gives off a bold and aggressive look—unlike the white version, which might appeal more to gamers with a clean, white-themed setup.
The scroll wheel is the only part of the mouse that features RGB lighting, giving it a subtle yet stylish gaming vibe. This minimal lighting approach makes the Harpe Ace Mini look sleek and not overly flashy—great for users who prefer a cleaner desk aesthetic.
On the left side, you’ll find two side buttons, ergonomically placed to be pressed using your thumb. These buttons are customizable and offer better accessibility, especially in games that benefit from extra inputs.
Build & Weight
One of the key highlights of this mouse is its weight. At just 48 grams, the ROG Harpe Ace Mini is one of the lightest mice on the market. This is clearly one of its biggest selling points. The mouse measures 126.1 (L) x 63.9 (W) x 39.7 (H) mm, making it a comfortable fit for most hand sizes.
Sensor & Connectivity
Flipping the mouse over, you’ll see the powerful ROG AimPoint Pro sensor, which ASUS claims is one of their best sensors for gaming mice. It delivers high precision, perfect for fast-paced competitive games.
In addition to the sensor, the bottom of the mouse houses several important features:
- A DPI switch for adjusting cursor sensitivity on the fly.
- A Pair button for connecting via Bluetooth.
- A connectivity switch that lets you toggle between Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless (via dongle), or wired mode.
There’s also a dedicated dongle storage slot—a smart feature that keeps things tidy. Unlike some competitors where the dongle is hidden behind the battery cover, this mouse features a built-in rechargeable battery, so there's no need to open anything just to store or remove the dongle.
Features & Software
The ROG Harpe Ace Mini is fully supported by ASUS’ Armoury Crate software, which plays a key role in unlocking the mouse’s full potential.
Using Armoury Crate, you can:
- Update the mouse firmware.
- Customize settings like DPI, button mapping, and RGB lighting (including static color, breathing, and color cycle effects).
- Monitor the battery level and usage time, a helpful feature for tracking your workflow or gaming duration.
Another interesting feature is mousepad tuning. Through Armoury Crate, you can calibrate the mouse performance based on the surface of your mousepad—although, at the moment, it only supports ASUS-branded mousepads. Still, it’s a nice feature to enhance tracking accuracy.
After using the ROG Harpe Ace Mini for about a month, I can confidently say it’s a great all-rounder mouse. It’s not only excellent for gaming but also ideal for professionals like editors and content creators who spend hours using a mouse.
Its lightweight design significantly reduces fatigue during long sessions. Personally, I often play games for 2–3 hours straight and never felt any discomfort using this mouse, which I attribute to its ultra-light build.
Battery life is another strong point. The built-in rechargeable battery lasts quite long, so you don’t have to worry about frequent charging. Overall, it’s one of the lightest and most comfortable mice I’ve used to date.
If you’re looking for a compact and lightweight mouse for competitive gaming, casual gaming, or even productivity tasks, the ROG Harpe Ace Mini is a solid choice.
